Pretty Good Day

Guys,

The weather more than cooperated even though it wasn't supposed to in the afternoon. 109 players showed up and got their game in, including one who showed up at 5:30. Thanks to everyone.

The big winner of the week ws Subaru who went low at 206 and as a result won the $50 team bonus and another $40 for their team account. They only had 8 players show up and for the longest time did not look as they would even have enough to qualify with the minimum of 6. Fortunately for them they had two late players who were very good.

The other teams who won, and have money added to their accounts are Investors Grp with $55,(11*5), Queens with $50 Boston Pizza with $50 Loyal Oarsman with $40. We also had our first tie game between Cowan and Sutton who will get $2.50 per player. Cowan will get $25 and Sutton will get $22.50.

The KPs were won by Doug MacPherson on #3 and John Lynch on #7. There will be a sleeve of Provs for each of you in the proshop tomorrow.

Skins were ineresting - Lots of them in two groups and only one in the other. Congratulations to Ted Nurse who won $44 as the only skin in the 9+ group. In the 0-5 group there were a total of 5 skins worth $6.60 each. Wayne Chaisson had 2 so he gets $13.20 and Jeff Kyle, John Lynch and Dennis Pennock will each get $6.60. Finally in the 6-8 group there were a total of 7 skins which obviously means we had a winner on almost every hole. They were worth $4.55 each. Gotta share the wealth! Ken Goodland had 2 skins so he gets $9.10 and then Rich Gallagher, Tom Lalande, Yves Leroux, Doug MacPherson,  and Wade Murray get $4.55 each. Congratulations.

The 50/50 was also a big winner for the league and the guy who won. Congratulations to John Futtit who won $220. Thanks to all who supported this. A big thanks as well to Rick Porritt and Peter Jarvis who put in a lot of time and effort to build the pot.

A couple of things to remember:

1) Please make sure you put your full name and the colour of the tees you played on your score card. Also please total your score.

2) Even if you are not playing with a member of the mens league that can be ok as long as the guys you are playing with are either members of the club or are regular golfers who know the rules of the game. The only restriction is that you cannot play alone.

3) We had one player show up at 5:30 last week and we let him play this time. The"rule" is that you have to play by 5 or before. The simple reason is that the committee members wait until the last players move through the KP holes before they pick up the KP pins. We like you all very much but... it starts to get real late when the tee offs are "late". Having said that if you have a problem you know in advance please talk to one of us.

Ok - done for now. Again our thansk to everyone who showed up. It was a good day.

It wasn't a perfect day but....

Guys,

The weather wasn't at all good in the afternoon, it rained from noon on, but we still had 107 players show up and played their nine at least. Well done.

The results: The Loyal Oarsman won again so they are now the only  undefeated team. They were also the low team for the week at 213 so we have put the $50 bonus in their team account plus $40 for the players (8X$5). Toyota jumped in with their first win and got $45 into their team account. The rest of the winners Hyundai got $50, Accra got $40, SNC-Lavalin got $45, and Boston Pizza got $40. Congratulations.

Our two KP winners were Bill Gorham on number 11 and Tom Djian on 13. There is a sleeve of Prov's in the propshop for each of you.

Only 5 guys won skins this week. Peter Johns in the 9+ category won 2 and will receive $38. Eric Stevens and Dean Van Vugt will each get $16.50 in the 0-5 group and Tom Djian and Carsten Sorensen got $17 each in the 6-8 group.

And Chris Rickett won $190 in the 50/50. Thanks for your support.

All in all it turned out to be a pretty good week. Thanks for showing up.

See you this coming week.

Howard

Two Weeks in a Row

Can you believe it? The weather forecast for this Thursday is for warm weather and mostly sunny.

Lets get out there and enjoy it while we can. Last week we had 118 players and we hope to see more this week. Participation counts - the leading team has won three games and the difference between them and second place team who has aslo won 3 games is 4 points wcich is attendance or paticipation points. Oh- in first is Loyal Oarsm with 63 points and Investors Group is in second with 59 points.

The 50/50 last week generated $208.50 which is great and will be very helpful at the year end. Look for us as we will be there again flogging our tickets.

The schedule this week:

Accra vs Investors Grp., Leisure Days vs Hyundai, Loyal Oarsman vs Cowan, Queens vs Boston Pizza, SNC-Lavalin vs Toyota, and Subaru vs Sutton. Have a good time.

See you Thursday.

Finally a good day

Guys,

Last Thursday was a reminder of 2016. Wasn't it nice? The sun was shining, it was was so warm you actually wanted to sit outside and the beer tasted just that much better. The scores on the other hand did not match how good the day eas and were actually pretty mediocre. The low round of the day was 37 by Bob Ferguson who also just happened ti win $208.50 in the 50/50. The rest of us apparently just enjoyed the moment.

Wayne Chaisson on #3 and Jim May on #7 won the KP'S. Balls for both of them were left in the proshop.

There  were a total of 10 skins. The biggest winner in the 9+ group was David Fairman who won $44. Bob Collins, Danny Gagnon, Wayne Kelly and Dennis Pennock and Nick Sorge won $13 each in the 0-5 group due to a carry over from the prevous week and Scott Allward, Brendan Bennett, Will Geris and Ken Thompsom won $10 each in the 6-8 group. Congratulations GUYS.

The winning teams were rewarded as follows Investors Group $55 for their 11 players plus $50 for the lowest team score of the week, Hyundai $55 for their 11 players, SNC- Lavalin $50 for their 10 players and Boston Pizza, Sutton and Loyal Oarsman $45 for their 9 players on each team.

The front runners, after 3 weeks, are Loyal Oarsman at 63 points and Investors Group with 59 points. Both have perfect 3 and 0 records.

So we seem to finally be getting into it, 118 guys played last week and with the forecast of sun and "hot" weather this coming week hopefully we will see even better attendance.

We still have a few team hats to give to give out so if you don't have one yet please look for us on Thursday. We are easy to find, on the deck, the good looking guys with the 50/50 tickets.

We have identified people we are going to approach as team captains this week and we hope to have this settled by Thursday.

Have a good week, enjoy the sun and we will see you Thursday.
