The Rules Apply to Everyone

Guys,

Hope you all  got me email earlier today. Sorry for the late distribution of the information.

This week Accra will play Hyundai, Cowan will play Investors Grp., Boston Pizza vs Leisure Days. Loyal Oarsman vs Toyota, Queens vs Sutton and SNC-Lavalin vs Subaru.

Right now Investors Grp and Loyal Oarsman are tied at the top of the league. We are getting close to starting some playdowns and participation points continue to be important and a difference maker. Hope our attendance continues to be strong through this month.

We have had a good year so far. Only  a few "issues" to sort out and generally everyone has played within the rules and demonstrated the integrity  we need to ensure everyone and every team is treated fairly. And it has been a fun year with healthy competition and good sportsmanship.

An issue has been brought to my attention that I have wrestled with on how to deal with  this late in the year. It seems simple enough - at the start of the year each player had the chance and the choice of what tees they wanted to play for the year. The rules were and still are that you play the same tees every Thursday that you started the year on.

The issue as explained to me is that at least one player who plays from the white tees moves up to the green tees on #5, and likely does the same thing on #16. I will follow up to confirm, or not, if this true. I hope it is not true but it needs to be sorted out.

It is simple enough - if you play the white tees you must play the white tees on EVERY hole. It is not your right or choice to do anything different.

There are only a few weeks left in the regular season and we want everyone to enjoy the experience but everyone needs to play with the same rules.

See you tomorrow.

Great Day(almost) Last week - Great Day this week

Guys,

We had a super turnout last week (110), we had super weather, we had great wings, we paid out skins money for the first 9 weeks and we distributed the team winnings for the first 10 weeks.

The only disappointment was the person(people) who moved the white tees up to the green tees on #11. This gave them and the following players an unfair advantage over the rest of the field. We know the general time frame when it happened but other than that don't know why and don't know who. All I do know is that it was pretty sad behaviour, pretty immature and disappointing. If a sleeve of balls is that important to you please come and see me.

Now - this week. Accra vs Cowan, Boston Pizza vs Hyundai, Investors Grp. vs Toyota, Lesiure Days vs Sutton, Loyal Oarsman vs Subaru and Queens vs SNC-Lavalin.

This is week twelve ( out of 18 total) so we are starting to think about playoff structures. We will let you know in the next few days how it will be set up. We are trying to set up a system that gives all teams a chance at winning for as long as we can.

The kitchen is closed this week! Your alternative is get a burger and fries or onion rings on the patio. And this is a great alternative. Many of the guys have said that Judy and her gang have the best burgers and the best fries plus onion wings around. I have had them myself a few times and they are fabulous. Give them a try if you are hungry.

This is normally the time of year that attendance drops quite a bit because of vacations and other personal plans. We hope you will make a special effort to get out if you can to support yor team. If you check the standings you will see that the participation points are making a difference.

Hope to see you tomorrow.

Howard

Wing Night this Thursday

Guys,

This week we will be providing a meal for all the members of the Men's League sponsored by the 50/50. It will be Wings and fries or Wings and salad. You will need to get a ticket for the meal ( NO TICKET NO MEAL) from us on Thursday. We will be available on the patio throughout the day and the meal will be available starting at 11am. There is only one choice, the wings, so that we can provide the meal throughout the day.

When you come to get your 50/50 we will give you a separate ticket at that time. Also- when you come to see us on the patio we will be distributing the skins money for the first nine weeks. There have been quite a few winners so far.

The games this weeks are - Accra vs Boston Pizza, Cowan vs Toyota, Hyundai vs Sutton, Investors Grp. vs Subaru, Leisure Days vs SNC-Lavain and Loyal Oarsman vs Queen.

In case you are wondering the games last week counted in the standings and for the prizes. It was a challenge but we had 80 guys make the effort to get their games in so we thought it was right to make it count. Three teams did not have enough players to count even though we reduced the minimum to 1 and 4. It was unfortunate ( my team was one of the three) but we felt it was the correct thing to do. One team actually had 11 players out so there was a real range - the lowest was 2 players.

Hopefully we are going to have a better day this week - the forecast is good - and we all have a good time.

See you Thursday,

Howard

A pretty good day - half way done

Guys,

109 players yesterday. Not our best but pretty good when you consider we are in the midst of the holiday season and the weather at noonish was pretty iffy. Thanks for coming out.

The winning team was Sutton at 204 and they won the low score bonus of $50 plus another $50 for their ten team members. Other winners were Toyota with $45, Boston Pizza with $50, Queens with $50, Loyal Oarsman with $45 and Investors Group with $55.

As of yesterday Investors Group is in front with 171 points followed by Loyal Oarsman with 167. The difference is participation points.

The skins winners were Frank Hartin, John Lynch and Tyler Sheridan IN THE 0-5 group for $8.35 each, in the 6-8 group Bob Browne, Will Geris and Jocelyn Girard won $6.35 each plus Larry Murphy won $12.70 for his two skins and in the 9+ group Bill Coupland, Leo Lavallee and Jeff Potter won $15.35 each.

The KP'S were won by Rick Porritt on #3 and by John MacPherson on #7. Rick has already received his balls and a sleeve of Prov's is in the proshop for John.

The 50/50, highest of the year so far, was won by Bob Browne for $237.50. Thanks to everyone for supporting this.

And finally a thanks and shout out to Pete Gaudet. On July 6th the system showed that he "won" a skin on the ninth hole with a birdie but Pete told me yesterday, that was a mistake,  that he did not get a birdie that day and should not have the skin. I very much appreciate the honesty and integrity of this and want to recognize him. Because of this Ted Burgess will get  a $36 skin that day instead of an eighteen dollar one.

Enjoy your  week.

Howard
