Welcome to the Men's League 2017 Season

Last Regular Day

Aug 23, 2017 | Posted by Howard Burleigh

Guys,

This Thursday, the weather looks promising, will be our last regular game of the season.

In the next three Thursdays after this week, we will have set up a playoff format to identify which team will be our league champions for 2017. In the first two weeks of our playoffs every team will still have a chance to win it all. Obviously some teams will have an advantage because of their play during the regular season and others will have a tougher job of it but still a chance.

Every team will keep 50% of their regualr season total to start the playoffs. For example, based on the standings after last week Loyal Oarsman( in 1st place ) will start with 112 points and Accra (last place) will start with 73.5 points. This could change a bit after play this week but it gives you the idea of how we will start.

The teams will be sorted into three sections A.B and C. In section A we will have the 1st, 6th, 7th and 12th placed teams, Section B will have 2nd, 5th, 8th and 11th placed teams and Section C will have the 3rd, 4th, 9th and 10th placed teams.

The teams in each section will play against one another in their section for the first two weeks and we will have points of 1st to 4th as follows : August 31 - first 25 pts, second 20 pts, third 10 pts and fourth 5 points and on September 7th - first 30 points, second 20 points, third 15 points and fourth 10 points. At the end of the second week, Sept 7th. we will add up all the points a team has (the 50% from the regular season and their playoff points) and then resort the teams one last time. We will pay out the "normal" money for the top 3 teams in each section  during these two weeks,

The four teams with the most total points after Sept. 7th will be put into Section A, the next four in Section B and the last four in Section C.

On September 14th the four teams in Section A will play for 4 cash prizes, the teams in Section B for 2 cash prizes and Section C for 1 cash prize.

This way we keep every team involved as long as we can and also give every team something to play for every week.

The matchups this week are as follows: Accra vs Investors Grp, Hyundai vs Leisure Days, Cowan Ins. vs Loyal Oarsman, Boston Pizza vs Queens, SNC-Lavalin vs Toyota and Subaru vs Sutton.

Good luck to all. See you Thursday.

Howard
