Welcome to the Tuesday Night Men's League 2018 Season

2018 Tuesday Night Men's League

Gentlemen,

Welcome back!  We are excited to announce we’ll once again be using our online scoring system again this season.  Thanks to this unique web based program players can track their individual and team performance, and we now have the ability to display live scoring on the club TV's!

Mark it on Your Calendar... League Play Begins on Tuesday May 1st!

We have 136 guys signed up (17 teams with 8 players on each team) and ready to go so you know it'll be a great year.    Important: The teams are for scoring purposes only.  You are welcome to play with whomever you please on a league day.   To view the team rosters, place your mouse cursor on PLAYERS and then click on the sub-heading Teams

LEAGUE FORMAT

As in year's past, we'll be using the Stableford scoring system for our league scoring.   Player Responsibility: Simply turn in your scorecard to the Pro Shop; staff will enter your hole-by-hole scores into the system.  It will calculate and display your Stableford Points.

TEAM SCORING

     For the regular season, teams will compete in a FEDEX Cup style format.  Teams earn points based on where they finish relative to the field.  The points will be distributed as follows; 1st - 34 pts, 2nd - 32 pts, 3rd - 30 pts, 4th - 28 pts, 5th - 26 pts, 6th - 24 pts, 7th - 22 pts, 8th - 20 pts, 9th - 18 pts, 10th - 16 pts, 11th - 14 pts, 12th - 12 pts, 13th - 10 pts, 14th - 8 pts, 15th - 6 pts, 16th - 4 pts, 17th - 2 pts.

But, and this is important – participation is a big part of this format  – in addition to the above mentioned Performance Points, teams receive 1 additional point for each participant who posts a score as long as they reach the minimum number of players required (4).  A team score will be determined by the total of the lowest (1) gross score and the three (3) lowest net scores posted by the team.  Players that don't count toward the team total can almost assuredly count on being singled out and suitably labeled on both the TV and this very website.  They will, however, earn a valuable participation point and, of course, they can always step it up and count the following week.

One of the hi-lights of the program is the actual real-time scoring.  As the Pro Shop staff enter the individual scores, the standings, individual performances (good/bad) and team information is updated in real-time on the Internet.  Guys who can’t make it or those stranded at the office until later in the day can log onto the league website to see how their team is doing.  Another bonus is the program actually maintains a separate league handicap so you can stop worrying because each team will be balanced with an equal number of liars, lowlifes, sandbaggers and cheats!  Handicaps are automatically updated and applied based solely on your league scores.  That, my friends, is pretty good.

Questions?  Comments?  We'd love to hear from you.  Send me a note at (aaronp@bluedevilgolf.com) or, better yet, post your question directly below the blog so everyone in the league can see it along with my well thought-out answer.  Again, thanks very much for supporting the league.  We're excited about another great year.

That is all,

Aaron
